Learning to learn
Life is cyclical. Everyday we we look at the paper (or apple news) and see a headline that could have been published in 1970. Today we're able to get those headlines along with gruesome videos that accompany them. Even those that try their best to avoid being online will eventually see and form an opinion.
I have been in a state of art block for years. Nothing I create is good enough. I've created art just to end up throwing it away.
If we think about creating art as R&D, I haven't been good about documenting my findings. My findings either end up in the trash or in a notebook that I won't pick up for another 3 years.
Art is so annoying. I struggle so much with art but end up in the same spaces a lot. I always hope that looking back will inspire me to draw new conclusions from the past.
New Ideas from old ones.
I'm in a rut of constantly going in circles. I didn't even make anything for my final studio project in school. Something I could be proud of. What would I make? I have no idea.
Is there a common thread in my work? Is there something I can try?
I really enjoy graphic design.
